Vinyl: Slauter Xstroyes Winter Kill 1st Press RARE Chicago Metal 1985 Private Release

Unfortunately, as fate would have it, this copy was stored in a box of records that got wet in a plumbing mishap about 20 years ago, and the damage was not discovered for several weeks, well after the box and its contents had already dried. The outer sleeve, inner sleeve, vinyl record and lyric sheet all have visible water/mildew damage, as you can clearly see in the photos. Some of the printing is definitely missing from the back cover, on the left edge where the sleeve had to be separated from another record in the water-damaged box.

Because of the rarity and historical significance of this pressing, no attempt has been made to clean or restore the sleeve or its contents to their original condition, mainly out of fear of causing further damage. It sure was well cared for and kept in excellent shape before that stupid pipe broke.

Depending on your restoration skills, you may be able to bring this relic back to presentable condition. (Buyer assumes all responsibility for any such restoration attempts.) Yeah, it's in pretty bad shape, but hey—it's a first-press copy of Winter Kill by Slauter Xstroyes, one of the rarest and most collectible vinyl records in the history of metal. When was the last time you saw one of these for sale anywhere? How many more opportunities do you think you'll have to own an original copy, in any condition? Couldn't it be argued that—due to the gnarly water damage—this is the most badass, most "metal" copy of the original 500?

We will use plastic bags with activated charcoal or a scented dryer sheet when needed to keep the items and/or boxes smelling fresh and clean.
