Vinyl: ELVIS PRESLEY - No 2 - 1957 UK HMV 12” Mono 1st Pressing Vinyl LP - Ex/Ex-

Here's an opportunity to obtain a superb copy of an Elvis rarity ... Elvis Presley - No 2, being a mono 12” vinyl LP, which also weighs in at around 180gms. Issued in the UK by His Master’s Voice in April 1957 it’s a 1st pressing, with the catalogue number CLP 1105.

Synopsis - Extremely rare and collectible, this was only the second ever album from Elvis. First released in the US by RCA, with the simple title of Elvis, copies of the UK version No 2, have historically been auctioned for in excess of £1000.

I acquired this record a few years back as part of a small 50s collection from a single source and most were near mint and all looked barely played. This record is no exception and the quality of the vinyl is stunning. Condition would suggest that it is little played and I’ve only just listened to it for the first time prior to listing. You’ll do well to find a better copy

Vinyl Condition - Excellent - The record is very bright and clean and looks barely played. I can‘t see any surface marks and there are certainly no worrying scratches. Having listened to the record, I can attest to a clear sound and there is no jumping, sticking or clicks. Background crackle/noise is almost non-existent and very low-level if heard.

Cover/Sleeve Condition - Excellent- - Original fully laminated outer cover, with minor signs of wear. This is in the form of a small split by the inner edge together with associated but minor stress creasing. Also signs of laminate lifting by the front spine edge. Suggestion of disc impression but then it is a substantial piece of vinyl. No edge or corner damage and no creasing, while the rear flipbacks are pristine. Plain white, die-cut, poly-lined inner sleeve as issued with minor wear but no damage. An additional see-through plastic cover has helped to maintain condition.
