"THE JAZZ WORKSHOP" ~ GEORGE RUSSELL with BILL EVANS, ART FARMER, HAL McKUSICK etc. 1962 UK REISSUE STEREO LP: SF-7511 on the RCA VICTOR Record Label.

This is a "hard to find" STEREO UK pressing (N2JY-1651-1G;N2JY-1652-1G) of "Jazz Workshop" which is the debut album by jazz composer George Russell, featuring his "Smalltet" which included Art Farmer, Hal McKusick, Barry Galbraith, and Bill Evans.

It was recorded between 3rd March and 21st December 1956 and first relased in 1957 on the RCA Victor Label in the USA.

This copy was released in the UK in 1962 in Stereo on the RCA Victor Label. Included are the original rear cover notes which were written by George Russell in 1957 and also notes written by Leonard Feather in 1957 for "Down Beat" magazine.
