Grading Code
N or N/NM - grooves are undisturbed, never breathed on record surface. Record Not Used, or only Sampled.
NM/N- a virtually unmarked disc, that has had only a slight amount of careful and considerate usage.
N- A carefully used record that has mild and minor surface marks. After careful cleaning, marks are inaudible at this grade.
Minimally invasive paper marks, fingernail marks, and slight smudges from usage do not have any audio affect to replay.
EX+ this degree of usage is still mild, and surface wear is in small areas. A tick or a pop, even a few repeated
seconds of surface noise can occur. Any slight audio surface noise experienced is far outweighed
by the musical enjoyment offered to the listener.
EX= record still excellent sonically, with no shearing or clipped tones, will play revealingly to most levels of audio appreciation,
with light background surface noise possible.
Other-records with below average to average surface wear condition. Astute collectors will find many easy playing bargains
in the VG+/EX range due to advances in audio cleaning/restoration.
