This is the 1958, first edition, “RVG” stamped, “P”-pressing of KENNY BURRELL’s “Blue Lights, Volume 2” on the "47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 1597. Musicians include Kenny Burrell, Louis Smith, Tina Brooks, Junior Cook, Duke Jordan, Bobby Timmons, Sam Jones, Art Blakey.

VINYL Side 1, plays beautifully with the occasional pop or tick. Side 2 plays nearly as well, with some low level surface noise beneath the music. 1/2" repeating tick, Side 2, #2. Long scuff on Side 2, inaudible. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong with clean transients, powerful extension and full tone. NO distortion. NO skips. Very good gloss. Handful of hairline marks, none feelable. The “47 West 63rd” labels are generally clean with spindle marks. Original inner sleeve included. See photos.

ORIGINAL, ANDY WARHOL DESIGNED, LAMINATED COVER is in beautiful condition, corners worn; some stains. Top seam clean and nearly perfect. Spine clean, some wrinkling. Bottom seam clean, 1” split at center of bottom seam. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd St., New York 23” back jacket shows wear, foxing, tears at bottom left. Please see photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON VPI 16.5 VINYL CLEANER.
