MAGOOL (MAGOL) “Shimbir Yohou” 45 (Light & Sound, 1973/Somali ORIGINAL!!)

There are rare records, there are extremely rare records, and then there are records like this: the biggest hit by Somalia’s immortal singing star of the 1970s, MAGOOL (or, as spelled here, MAGOL), on the legendary Light & Sound label from Mogadishu! This is the real deal, folks. And with an incredibly rare blue label variation that I’ve never seen before. I’ve seen the red and yellow label (pressed in Kenya), a solid yellow label (also pressed in Lebanon, like this copy), but never this blue variation. I’m not sure what that means in terms of its pressing information, but surely every copy is BEYOND RARE. Even trying to probe the internet for information about it, the only replies I could get (even from Somalis) were “It’s very rare!”

An astonishingly record, priced accordingly, but I doubt there even are other copies to be had.

Condition: Solidly VG, with light to moderate crackle throughout, as you can hear in the soundclip. No sleeve.
