Vinyl: Meet the Beatles! PRESS INFORMATION STICKER! Ultra Rare early Promo Jacket 1st

Up for auction is this incredible piece of Beatles history - a Meet the Beatles Album that was sent out to the press with the rare "Press Information" sticker on the cover! From what I can tell from research this is an ultra rare album jacket with only about 200 having been sent out to members of the press and disc jockeys.

The album is correct to the jacket, with only 1 BMI credit given, rare on its own! It includes the blue inner sleeve, but no additional press information.

The jacket does have some damage - please inspect the pictures carefully. The front has some holes& damage on the upper right and 3 scratches on the lower mid right (see photo - they dont remove ink, but do cause indents). The press sticker has a few spots of wear. The edges are solid, with one spot on the lower right that has some fraying (though closed). The back has visible water damage to the opening side, and some minor spots staining towards the base. The album its self has a fair amount of light scratches, though none that can be felt, just seen.

Compared to the other versions of this album that has come up for sale in recent years, this is in good condition. This is NOT a reproduction press info sticker, which does exist. This sticker is 6 3/8" long and is a neon green/yellow color.

Auction starts at 0.99 and runs for 10 days, ending Sunday night 6/22. The album & cover will be shipped in a box with the album removed from the cover to avoid damaged to the edges. I accept full refunds within 7 days of arrival.

A photo of this album can be seen on page 161 in Bruce Spizer's book "the beatles are coming"- I wish i found this in the book before I listed it, but here is what Bruce says about the album "Capitol distributed special copies of Meet the Beatles to reporters and photographers who attended the group's Feb 10, 1964 press conference at the Plaza Hotel in New York. The Albums have a 1 1/2" x 6 3/8" yellow-green sticker affixed to the cover, which states "PRESS INFORMATION (inside Jacket) This is Americas best-selling Album!"." Pretty amazing (to me at least) that this album was actually there! It seems these were just given out to people at that conference, not sent out to members of the press.

There is also a photo of the original album in "Warman's Beatles Field Guide: Values and Identification" by Tim Neely, 2011, on page 357.
