On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by Pink Floyd called "Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" and is an ORIGINAL 1969 UK MONO Pressing on the Columbia label!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!! JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!! THIS WAS PINK FLOYD'S FIRST & RAREST LP EVER - AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE!!!! BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP REALLY SPECIAL - IS THAT IT IS THE ALL TIME RAREST PINK FLOYD LP EVER MADE!!!! I WILL EXPLAIN:-

THIS IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE ALL TIME RAREST PINK FLOYD LP EVER MADE. A VERY STRONG STATEMENT INDEED - BUT ONE THAT IS 100% TRUE. OF COURSE, THERE ARE DEMOs AND ACETATES WHICH ONLY HAD 2 OR 3 COPIES MADE ETC. BUT I AM TALKING ABOUT THE RAREST PINK FLOYD LP THAT WAS EVER RELEASED - AND COULD HAVE BEEN BOUGHT IN A SHOP. IT ONLY EVER EXISTED ON 1 SET OF MONO STAMPERS ONLY - AND ONLY A MAXIMUM OF 300 COPIES COULD HAVE BEEN MADE ON THIS STAMPER SET. THOUGH THIS ONLY APPLIES IF THE FULL STAMPER WAS USED - AND IN THIS CASE, IT WASN'T AS PART OF THIS STAMPER SET HAD ALREADY BEEN USED ON THE LAST 'BLUE/BLACK' LABELS! TO PUT THIS LP INTO PERSPECTIVE, THE MOTHER & STAMPERS MOST PEOPLE TEND TO LOOK FOR IS 1G/1G OR 1G/1R. AND YET OVER 50 COPIES WITH THESE STAMPERS HAVE TURNED UP FOR SALE IN THE LAST 10 YEARS. AND YET ONLY 2 OR 3 COPIES OF THIS 'RAREST EVER' MONO PRESSING HAVE TURNED UP IN THE SAME TIME PERIOD!!!!

AND REMEMBER - THAT THIS LABEL IS VERY COMMON IN STEREO, BUT IS ALMOST NON-EXISTENT IN MEGA RARE MONO (ONLY 100-200 COPIES WERE EVER MADE IN MONO ON THIS LABEL!)!!!!

THE DATE:-

IT IS IMPORTANT FIRSTLY TO GET THE TIME PERIOD 100% CORRECT. SOME PEOPLE LIST THIS LP AS A 1968 PRESSING. IT WASN'T. COLUMBIA USED THE 'BLUE/BLACK' LABELS RIGHT UP TO THE VERY END OF 1969 - WITH THE LAST MAINSTREAM LP TO HAVE THEM BEING THE DAVE CLARK FIVE'S '5X5' (SX 6309) RELEASED IN DECEMBER 1968. THERE WERE ALSO A COUPLE OF OTHER OBSCURE LPs TO ALSO HAVE THEM INTO JANUARY 1969. SO IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS LP IS DEFINITIVELY FROM 1969 - AS NO 'SILVER/BLACK' COLUMBIA LABELS EXISTED BEFORE JANUARY 1969. AND OF COURSE, NO DOUBT AS A CHARTING LP - THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN LEFT OVER STOCKS TO SELL FIRST, PRIOR TO NEW COPIES BEING ORDERED. SO IT IS ALMOST CERTAIN THAT THIS LP ACTUALLY DATES FROM MARCH/APRIL 1969. IN FACT, IT COULD EVEN BE LATER STILL - POSSIBLY INTO THE SUMMER OF 1969.

THE REASON FOR THIS RAREST EVER LAST MONO PRESSING:-

AT THIS POINT IN 1969 MONO COPIES OF THIS LP WOULD HAVE ONLY BEEN AVAILABLE BY 'SPECIAL ORDER' ONLY. AND THIS LP HAD LONG SINCE LEFT THE CHARTS AND WAS AVAILABLE IN STEREO. SO DEMAND WOULD HAVE BEEN NON EXISTENT, AND THIS CLEARLY WASNT A DELIBERATE PRESSING. SO THE ONLY REASON THAT THIS PRESSING EVEN EXISTED AT ALL - WAS FOR EMI TO USE UP THE REMAINING MONO COVERS. CLEARLY ONLY 100-200 MONO COVERS WERE LEFT, AS THIS LP ALMOST NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE LIKE THIS AND ON THIS LABEL. AFTER ALL THIS LP WAS READILY AVAILABLE IN STEREO SO THIS IS WHY ONLY 100-200 OF THE LAST MONOs WERE EVER MADE, BEFORE BEING DELETED FOREVER, LEAVING THIS LP THEN ONLY AVAILABLE IN STEREO ONLY!!!!

THE SHEER RARITY OF THIS LP IN UNDENIABLE. AND THE CHANCES OF EVER FINDING ANOTHER ONE AGAIN (ESPECIALLY IN THIS BRILLIANT CONDITION!) IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE! THIS LP ONLY EXISTS ON ON 1 SET OF MONO STAMPERS (1/GG & 1/GO) OF WHICH ONLY PART OF THESE WERE EVER USED. ONLY 2 OR 3 OF THESE HAVE TURNED UP IN THE LAST 10 YEARS, AS OPPOSED TO 50+ 1G/1G & 1G/1R COPIES. THIS WILL BE THE GAP IN MOST PEOPLE PINK FLOYD COLLECTIONS THAT REMAINED UNFILLED. This is the ORIGINAL Columbia UK Pressing from 1969 and is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The Cat. No is SX 6157 on the RAREST EVER Silver/Black MONO Columbia label (see picture) and is a UK MONO Pressing!!!!

The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and only a few VERY light spindle marks!!!! IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HASNT BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL!!!! The vinyl is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only 2 or 3 MEGA light hairlines, only 2 or 3 ULTRA light scufflines, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!! ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!! THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK AND SHINES LIKE NEW!!!! It is also great to find that the playing of the record is as STUNNING as the visual!!!! It plays with NO skips, only a few VERY light clicks, NO sticks, NO jumps, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!!!! The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!! The record must grade Very Good++ if not better!!!! BRILLIANT RECORD!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 'Patents Applied For' Advertising inner sleeve which is in SUPERB condition!!!! The 'E.J.Day' Flipback Laminated Cover is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only VERY slight corner wear (NOT through the colour!), NO rips, NO tears, only some very VERY minor evidence of 'tipping in' to the corner tips, NO splits, only a few VERY light creases (cover is VERY flat looking indeed!), VERY shiny laminate, NO annotations, and NO writing!!!! The opening edge is beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL!!!! Even the unlaminated back of the cover is in BRILLIANT condition with NO grubbyness, NO rubbing, only 2 or 3 TINY indentations, NO yellowing, and NO writing!!!! The cover must grade Very Good++++ if not better!!!! BRILLIANT COVER!!!!
