About This Record. This is a Top keeper copy of The New Colony Six's first LP from 1966 released on Sentar Records 101 in mono format. Pokora Four Stars and Vernon Joynson R3-R4 if you care. And Acid Archives R3. At the River's Edge is a major sonic fuzz blaster that was comp'ed on Pebbles.

Acid Archives notes: "Breakthrough is a long-time legend from Chicago 60's beat and garage scene, and should not b confused with the bland commercial sound of the band's later phase. Easily one of the bet mid 1960's LPs from the Midwest, the album is dominated by marry teenbeat-folkrock along the lines of Rising Storm, and it even has a terrific pro to-ppsychedelic " Frozen Laughter" counterpart in "The Time of The Year is Sunset."

Wright says this is a Killer rare garage classic which I like as much as the Rising Storm LP on Remnant Records that came out a year later. This LP is solid garage (don't let the fact the band has six members concern you) with killer solid organ vibe throughout (like the Summer Sounds LP except more than just the one good organ song) and one or two psych pounders, including an acid 1960's fuzz punk killer (At The River's Edge) and this LP is NOT like their later LPs which suck (although Colonization has a few good songs). I bought this in Minneapolis in 1980 at a record convention in the basement of a Holiday Inn from Tom Tourville for $100 which was the same that Litter Distortions records were selling for way back then. I think Tom said there were about 500 of these LPs pressed (just like the Rising Storm which had 500 pressed). And 10,000 copies of The Litter's Distortions LP (YES, this LP is MUCH MUCH MUCH harder to find than The Litter's Distortions LP). Anyways, I highly recommend this LP, sounds like Fantastic Dee-Jays meet The Beach Boys instead of the Rising Storm who sound like The Who meet your favorite RnB artist for those songs that are not garage influenced.

PLEASE

CHECK my Feedback which will show you my grading, Cover/Vinyl, of other LPs I have recently sold and what the lucky people who are bought them think of them and our experience.

The photos of the labels or cover list the songs and any possible details about the labels.

I offer full refund including shipping both ways (for USA and foreign buyers in case for some wildly strange reason you might be unhappy with this purchase. Comes hand-cleaned on my VPI 16.5 Record Cleaning machine (hate those automated 17's) and placed in a new dust-free sleeve for your grandchildren. And at least one plastic sleeves for moisture protection (for you and me).

Cover Condition: Excellent Plus (EX+) cover with some light chipping in the cover slick along the opening edge, and light age spotting on the back cover. Pretty Impossible to Upgrade. Stored by me carefully in 3mil sleeves for decades. Please See all the Photos I took. I didn't take them for fun and frolic.

Vinyl Condition: Strong Excellent (EX) vinyl. Impossible to upgrade; I know. I have owned about four copies in the past forty years. Some light paper marks and just a few light meaningless scuffs. Top keeper copy. Only about 500 pressed.

Labels. Near Mint (NM). Please see photos of all labels.

Inserts: Comes with original plain white (now brown) paper inner sleeve that I found with this LP when I purchased it decades ago.

Packaging. I clean all my Records on a KL Audio Ultrasonic Record Cleaning Machine so they will be ready to play, and I place in a new rice-paper equivalent sleeve so the dust does not reattach; and I separate the vinyl in its new sleeve after cleaning from the cover, and place the cover and the separately packed vinyl in at least one if not two plastic innersleeves that help protect against moisture damage d uring this cool records transition to your record collection. I use sturdy carboard containers with real corners and pack with at least two insert stiffeners, and I place neon stickers on the front and back of the package indicating “Do Not Bend” and/or “Fragile” or something like that to help facilitate a safe passage.

Shipping and Payment. PayPal only. I ship promptly worldwide; sometimes the automatic eBay invoice does not have accurate shipping if you buy more than one LP, so if you are unsure email me and ask for an invoice. . . . I offer full refund on this record including shipping both ways, unless you live outside North America in which case I will refund you shipping one way unless I made a mistake which I sometimes do because I am only human..
