Up for auction is Blue Note LP 4048, Donald Byrd's Byrd in Flight, featuring Hank Mobley, Duke Pearson, Doug Watkins, Lex Humphries, Jackie McLean, and Reginald Workman. Record bears the West 63rd NYC address, has RVG stamped into the dead wax, and features the "deep groove" in both sides.
Sleeve: NM with practically no visible wear to any surface, excepting small section of discoloration on the bottom of the back, a line of writing in blue pen with a "January 31, 1961" date and two track timings written in, and a "review copy" stamp above the title on the back cover.
Record: side 1 - NM with exceptionally minor scuffing in one section from being pulled out of the sleeve; side 2 - NM with no visible wear, perhaps never played.
I am a university professor of music here in the US who inherited this and other records from a collector a few years back. I am looking to sell off some of these records to collectors/audiophiles who can get more enjoyment out of them than I can.
