Vinyl: 2 BEAUTIFUL BEATLES 2ND & 3RD STATE YESTERDAY AND TODAY BUTCHERS, COLLECTOR QUAL

This is a PAIR of the most recognizable and collectible records in the world, period. Here are TWO original 1966 Beatles "Yesterday and Today" albums - one is a 2nd State (unpeeled paste over cover), and one is a 3rd State (professionally peeled cover). We all know the story of this record - if not, Google it! The 2nd state album is a mono #3 Scranton issue. All three seams are very nice and NOT SPLIT (the spine has some missing paper but was not "split" by a record). The front cover has some normal wear, but no writing, cuts, etc. The back cover also has some normal wear, but, again, no writing, cuts, etc. There is a crease on the back upper left corner, but the crease doesn't go all the way through - it doesn't show on the front side. And the REALLY COOL feature of this Butcher is the lower right corner has a "flap" - THE PASTE OVER COVER HAS TOTALLY COME AWAY FROM THE BUTCHER COVER! The glue has become unstuck on its own and you can see Ringo's leg in all its glory! Where the top cover is still attached, THE PAPER OF THE PASTEOVER SLICK HAS STARTED TO RIP SLIGHTLY, BUT THE BOTTOM SLICK IS STILL FULLY INTACT - THE BUTCHER COVER UNDERNEATH IS NOT RIPPED!!! Because the glue came away so easily from the bottom right, this is probably a great candidate for peeling, but I don't feel comfortable doing it, as I have never done it before.

The 3rd state album is also a mono #3 Scranton issue. All three seams on this one are also very nice and NOT SPLIT - the integrity of both covers is extremely nice and sturdy. The front cover has been peeled and has been touched up in numerous small spots, BUT THEIR FACES ARE BEAUTIFULLY DISPLAYED AND ARE NOT RIPPED OR TORN! - there is nothing more disappointing than a peeled Butcher with tears right through their faces! The cover is not perfect, but it is 20 times better than those smeared or shredded "do-it-yourself" peels out there. Overall, there is nothing super distracting, and it displays very well (see photos). The back cover is extremely nice for a 3rd state - usually they have water damage from peeling, major ring wear, or writing - this one only has a tiny amount of ring wear. Overall, a pretty cool Butcher.

Both of these albums come with decent records and original inner sleeves. Both also come with copies of the Capitol Records recall letter. These were in my collection until now, and I was happy to have them. Unless you are holding out for a First State (good luck!), this is a rare chance to get both 2nd and 3rd state Butchers for one incredibly low price!
