This is an ORIGINAL VERY FIRST and EARLIEST FRENCH PRESSING of
the MASTERPIECE debut LP of the Greatest rock band to ever walk this Earth
THE STOOGES by THE STOOGES.As you can see it is a ELEKTRA GOLD LABEL
PROMO PRESSING. When I was collecting records i decided to be a completest collector
(I collected pressings from every country a particular LP was pressed in)
This is one of the most difficult pressings of this great LP to get your hands on !
The Elektra gold label pressings are exceptionally rare. They were pressed in tiny numbers
and sent to record stations in various countries France Canada ,Germany and Australia to promote
this hotly tipped new band.Indeed Elektra records thought with the Stooges they had discovered
the next big thing after their massive success with The doors 2 years earlier .They thought in Iggy
they had found the next JAGGER. Ironically, they were right, it just took 40 years for the rest of the world
to realize this ! This magnificent front laminater flip back sleeve differs massively to the UK and the USA
releases of this LP for many reasons like "POP MUSIC" wrote there in "happy writing" above the , THE STOOGES logo.
One this this band was not is happy. The band shot is also much darker than any other release...
(this is just the kind of geeky stuff that made record collecting so interesting for me the sleeve and label differences etc !)
There is a tiny laminate bobble to the left of Iggy`s left eye near the spine and some corner ware.The back of the sleeve is where all the difference is to most
other releases of this great LP. Completely different typeset used in THE STOOGES and the Song titles
and no shot of the band ! There are various basic note descriptions like SLOW/ROCK/ 10 minutes/ even
HALF ROCK written near the tame track Real Cool Time ,these were probably done by a DJ . Remember
this is a GOLD LABEL PROMO and he would`nt want to play the 10 minute slovenly chant WE WILL FALL
over the airwaves back in 1969.So to me these DJ notes are all part of it. The original French inner sleeve
is present and in EXCELLENT condition. The sleeve is VERRY GOOD ++ .
The beautiful GOLD ELEKTRA PROMO labels are in excellent condition. Double click the pictures to see
all spinal writings still clearly written.
The vinyl of Side 1 has a few hairlines and a couple of unsightly marks but they are totally inaudible and
side one plays all the way without any problems. The music is loud and ferocious im test playing it as I write
this. What an LP ! As 1969 ends then the intro to I WANNA BE YOUR DOG....That sense of for foreboding...
You just know something major is coming your way. Long overdue is the recognition this band are finally getting.
And because of this the value of their records will soar.
Side 2 also has some light hairlines but nothing that intrudes on the playing of this LP and it plays all the
way through with no skipping sticking or jumping anywhere on the LP. Other than the hairlines mentioned
and the marks on side 1 both sides still have a nice high luster to them.
Both LP and the sleeve are in VERY GOOD PLUS condition on this very rarely seen
FRENCH PROMO GOLD LABEL ELEKTRA pressing.
A rare opportunity for the completest collector here to add to the collection !

They are truly seriously, SERIOUSLY RARE. Where this
