You're bidding on the Original Nickel Metal Masters(Sides A, B, C, D) of the Classic Records LP reissue of Led Zeppelin's "The Song Remains The Same".
One of a kind original nickel metal masters used by Classic Records for their vinyl reissue editions. These “metal parts” are what results from the “nickel plating” of an original lacquer cut from the original master tape. The first part that is separated from the lacquer after plating is referred to as the “Nickel Metal Master” or “Master” for short. The Master, if “formed” into a stamper can be used to press LP’s resulting in the so called “one step vinyl pressings” or as is more commonly the case, the Master can be re-plated to yield a “Nickel Metal Mother” which can then be re-plated to yield 3-step stampers used to press vinyl LP’s. These Metal Masters are from Classic Records archives and recently unearthed.
From the Master sleeve it is obvious that these parts have been plated once which yielded a Mother used by Classic Records to make stampers to then press their now famous and highly collectible LP pressings. These parts can yield additional “Mothers” and hence stampers that could be used to press LP’s, assuming of course, that one obtained the proper license from the content owner. These pieces of Classic Records History and Legacy represent arguably an uber unique collectible that can never be duplicated again!
Each metal master is packaged in the original brown sleeve to preserve their collectibility.
