I am posting this auction for a friend in order to help out Todd Swalla of the Necros who after decades of playing drums is in need of expensive hearing aids. This is a chance to give back to an innovator and stalwart of the American punk scene and own a rare piece of history.

Details: One of possibly ten test pressings of the Necros "Conquest for Death" / "Take 'Em Up" 7" on Touch & Go Records given to Molly Burnham by Todd Swalla in 1983.

A note from the seller:

In the early 1980’s the American hardcore scene was exploding. Each city had their own community of bands and artists that reflected that particular place. Young kids making music, and listening to music. We expanded our horizons through bands touring, taking road trips (following the punk network like a cobweb), spending hours in record stores, reading zines, and seeing shows-all organized through letters or on the phone. This is how I first became friends with the Ohio punk kids, including Todd Swalla. I’ve held onto the test pressing that Todd gave me through about a million moves, and a lot of years. I had no intention of selling the record to profit myself. But when I heard that Todd needed hearing aids, costing close to $5,000, it was a no-brainer.

Everyone involved in organizing this sale is part of the D.I.Y hardcore heritage. The full amount that is raised from selling this single will go directly to Todd. Where it rightfully belongs. So give back to the original kid, part of the history.
